The La Serena School of Data Science is targeted for senior undergraduate students (3rd through 6th year) and beginning (1st and 2nd year) graduate students in programs related to astronomy and "big data",  including (but not limited to) astronomy, computer science, statistics, and mathematics.

Registration is CLOSED for the 2015 School.  We only have 30-40 seats for the 2015 School.  We look forward to a strong demand for these seats, so "registration" consists of filling out the online application with information about the your background and qualifications.  Please fill out the online application form (link below) and let us know about yourself!

Scholarship Requirements
Thanks to funding from the U.S. National Science Foundation as well as the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics (MAS) and CONICYT in Chile, scholarships will be available for most of the students selected from the U.S. and Chile.  To qualify for a scholarship, students must be enrolled full time in an accredited university in either the U.S. or Chile, and provide a copy of their grades together with a letter of recommendation from a professor in their program of study.  No explicit scholarship application is required, as all U.S. or Chilean applicants will automatically be considered as scholarship candidates.

Application Form for 2015

The application deadline has been extended to May 22, 2015 (was May 15, 2015).  Successful applicants will receive invitations in mid-June to participate in the School, which starts on 15 August.
